Privacy Policy

Effective date: February 20, 2026

1. Who we are

Averio (“we”, “our”, or “us”) provides an AI-powered website builder for small businesses. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights regarding that data.

For questions, contact us at privacy@averio.com.

2. Data we collect

Account information

When you sign up we collect your email address and, optionally, your name via Clerk (our authentication provider). We store a unique identifier linked to your Clerk account in our database.

Business content

Information you provide during onboarding and in the editor — such as your business name, description, services, hours, phone number, address, and any text or images you upload — is stored to generate and display your website.

Usage data (with consent)

If you accept our cookie notice, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymised information about how you navigate the site (pages visited, session duration, device type). No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics, and IP addresses are anonymised before storage. You can opt out at any time by clicking “Manage cookies” in the footer.

Payment information

Billing is handled by Stripe and Clerk Billing. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to payment data: stripe.com/privacy.

Log data

Our servers automatically record standard log data including IP addresses, browser type, and timestamps when you access the service. Logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.

3. How we use your data

  • To create and host your website
  • To authenticate you and manage your account
  • To process subscription payments
  • To send transactional emails (e.g. account confirmation, receipts)
  • To understand how the product is used and improve it (analytics, with consent)
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

4. Third-party services

We share data with the following processors only as necessary to provide the service:

  • Clerk — authentication and user management (clerk.com/privacy)
  • Anthropic — AI content generation. Business content you submit during onboarding is sent to Anthropic’s API to generate website copy. Anthropic’s API data usage policy applies (anthropic.com/privacy).
  • Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
  • Google Analytics — usage analytics, with your consent (policies.google.com/privacy)
  • Vercel / Supabase — infrastructure and database hosting

5. Cookies

We use two categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary — authentication session cookies set by Clerk. These are required for the service to function and do not require your consent.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics cookies, set only with your explicit consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.

6. Data retention

We retain your account and site data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and site content are removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records for legal or financial purposes (e.g. billing records for up to 7 years).

7. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw cookie consent at any time without affecting prior processing

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@averio.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

Averio is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice in the product. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
